My experience with companies and individual professionals entering new markets began with the publication of the first of edition of my book, Working with Americans (2001, Pearson Education, London). Both this book and the second edition (published in 2020 published by Routledge, London) were written to provide insight to the unique American business culture for people beginning their experience working in the US or with teams including Americans. Since its publication I’ve done Working with American presentations and workshops in the US, China, Russia, UK and Germany.

In addition I wrote World Wise What to Know Before You Go (Fairchild Publications, New York). This book provides information on the regions of the world essential for newcomers to global business and seasoned professional entering new markets.

I’ve presented workshops for corporations and associations about Working with the World. Among my projects was a series of Working with the World programs for the Export University created by Port of Los Angeles.

Work with individuals included coaching a Chinese manager brought to the US on American business practices, preparing attorney for a trip to Saudi Arabia to speak at a conference and an American executive for his initial trip to China to meet with potential partners. Each situation required understanding of both culture and business etiquette.
